The prestigious Institute of Astrophysics of the Georg-August University of Göttingen in Göttingen is home to a modern reflector telescope with a mirror 50 cm in diameter and 5 m focal length, which is used in the teaching of physics and the internship placement as well as for astrophysics.

To counter the dew on the primary mirror of the telescope as early as possible to search for a suitable solution for monitoring the environmental factors temperature and humidity.

This was to fulfill the following requirements:

Close-up of the telescope. At the bottom of the screen is easily visible via the CAT-5 cable to be renewed for up to 300 meters dual sensor temperature and humidity. The dual sensor AK THS00 is the early detection of dew formation of the telescope primary mirror with temperature and humidity fluctuations.

As part of the moisture measurement range between 80 and 100% is particularly critical. Here, the Institute for Astrophysics receive a timely warning - before the undesirable uses dew on the mirror surface of the telescope.
