How the WLAN Thermometer with 2 digital / dry contact inputs works

With the compact WLAN-Thermometer from manufacturer Didactum you get a wireless solution for the continuous measurement of temperature in important rooms. The temp sensor integrated in the WLAN Thermometer is equipped with an SNMP OID. It measures temperature in the range from minus 40 degrees Celsius to plus 100 degrees Celsius. In addition Didactum`s WLAN Thermometer offers two inputs for digital / potential-free / dry contacts. Here you can connect the Water Leak Cables, door contact sensors, and glass breakage detectors from manufacturer Didactum. Also access control systems can be connected here.

This WLAN thermometer is simply integrated into an existing 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.11b / g / n wireless network. A battery replacement or charging of batteries is not necessary with the Didactum WLAN thermometer, because it is powered by an external power supply. The integrated LED indicates the operability and the connection to the WLAN network. The WLAN Thermometer is configured via the web browser of your PC, notebook, tablet or smartphone. Notifications are sent to monitoring software and Network-Management-Systems (Nagios, OpenNMS, WhatsUp Gold, Zabbix, etc.) in the form of SNMP traps.

This allows you to measure and monitor the environmental factor temperature with your SNMP compatible network, automation or building monitoring software. The MIB files and Nagios plugins required to integrate the WLAN thermometer into Network Monitoring Software (NMS)  are included with this WLAN Thermometer. A cloud transmission of the measured temperature data recorded is also supported by Didactum`s WLAN Thermometer.
