Monitoring System 600

The monitoring system 600 is the top-of-the-line model in a range of six remote monitoring devices. This unit has been developed for the protection and monitoring of medium and large infrastructure. In addition to server room, data center, production and logistics environments, this powerful monitoring system can also monitor energy and telecommunications infrastructure around-the-clock. It is Ethernet based so that vulnerable rooms and facilities can be monitored on-premise in the enterprise as well as in remote locations. An optionally available LTE modem supports the connection of the Monitoring System 600 to the LTE High Speed Internet.

Measurement and (remote) monitoring of important physical parameters

At the front of the Ethernet based monitoring system 600 are 8 ports for sensors. The total number of sensor connections can be increased to more than 200 units by using optional sensor expansion boxes. Choose from the extensive range of sensors the required sensors individually. Important physical measures such as temperature, humidity, voltage or current can be measured and monitored by this network enabled remote monitoring device in real time. Risks and hazards that can result from fire, gas or water leakage, can be detected and reported early by simple installation of suitable sensors. A threat to the security of the monitored infrastructure, such as unauthorized access, burglary, theft or vandalism, can also be reported early by installing suitable security sensors.

Graphical user interface

Like all Didactum IP-based remote measuring and monitoring devices, the Monitoring System 600 is also equipped with a graphical user interface. Simply access it via the web browser from the PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet. A built-in installation wizard guides you through the basic configuration. For each connected sensor, individually definable thresholds and alarm values can be selected and linked to individual types of notifications and alarms. In case of critical temperature or heat in the critical infrastructure, this remote monitoring unit can  send messages and alarms via e-mail and / or SMS * (* via LTE modem or Web-to-SMS gateway). The content of the alarm message can be customized with selectable macro functions. At the same time, the 12V outputs and relays available on the device can be automatically switched. The built-in logic functions of the remote monitoring system 600 allow the creation of more than 1,000 individual rules.

Remote monitoring and remote control of signaling contacts

The Monitoring System 600 is equipped with 32 inputs and 8 outputs for signaling contacts. With the support of these I / O signal contacts, systems and systems can be monitored and controlled remotely. The control and monitoring of connected systems and machines can be done via the graphical web interface, via defined logics and also via SNMP commands. The control of the I / O signaling contacts can also take place in interaction with sensors connected to the networked Monitoring System 600, so that, for example, when the temperature limit is exceeded, an air conditioner is automatically switched on. All status messages and events are recorded in the syslog. To be prepared for any contingency, the Monitoring System 600 also provides an out-of-band control option for connected signaling (dry) contacts (LTE modem required).

SNMP based infrastructure monitoring

The TCP / IP based Monitoring System 600 operates stand-alone so that installation of additional software, clients or agents is not required. It communicates on request with the SNMP protocols SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3. SNMPv3 allows the encrypted communication of the monitoring device with the management software or the network management system (NMS). By using so-called SNMP traps, the Monitoring System 600 sends important messages and sensor data to the central monitoring software. If, for example, the temperature threshold in the remote base transceiver station is exceeded, this event is transmitted via LAN / WAN in the form of SNMP traps. Since each sensor and signaling contact is equipped with an own SNMP OID, direct polling and SNMP walk functions are supported. Use a simple SNMP command to query the temperature in your base transceiver station or computer room.

Monitoring System 600

The networked Monitoring System 600 provides integrated monitoring of mission-critical rooms and facilities. Like all remote monitors from Didactum, this device also offers stand-alone operation. An installation of agents or clients is not mandatory for operation. The remote access to the multilingual web server of the remote monitoring unit takes place via the web browser of your smartphone / tablet / PC or notebook. With full SNMP v1, SNMP v2c and SNMP v3 support, this monitoring unit can be integrated into automation solutions (SCADA) and network monitoring software (Nagios /  check_MK / OpenNMS / PRTG / WhatsUp Gold / Zabbix, etc.).
