sensorProbe2+ - a new successful monitoring device
After 3 years of development, the well-known manufacturers AKCess Pro presented an upgrade of the sensorProbe2 network monitoring solution: the new sensorProbe2+. The classic sensorProbe2, sensorProbe8 sensorProbe4 remote monitoring units are offered unchanged.
The main application of the new sensorProbe2 + is the LAN-based remote monitoring of server cabinets. Within the rack monitoring you can monitor the inlet and outlet temperature of the cooling airflow. In this way, overheating of the server enclosure can be early detected by the AKCP temperature sensors and reliable reported by the network-enabled sensorProbe2+ monitoring unit to the responsible administrators and IT managers. By SNMP support of sensorProbe2+ the current temperature values of server racks can also be transmitted directly to Network Management Systems (NMS) and DCIM solutions.
MIB files and Nagios plugins are shipped with the new sensorProbe2+ rack monitoring system. At the same time dangerous hot spots in server cabinet can be reliably indicated by new sensorProbe2+ remote rack monitoring system. The temperature data gathered by sensorProbe2+ rack monitoring device also allows a reduction in energy costs. Based on the temperature data, the cooling of the mission-critical server cabinets can be optimized. After the evaluation of the prevailing temperatures in the server enclosure, it turns out that the network and server equipment is not ecologically and economically cooled. Using AKCess Pro`s new sensorProbe2+ and the new optional thermal Map Feature, effective savings in the cost-intensive cooling of IT equipment can be made. For operators of server room and data center infrastructures a possibility for substantial energy and cost savings.
SNMP coupled sensors for the sensorProbe2+
The new sensorProbe2 (SP2 +) rack monitoring system can be fitted with individually selectable AKCP sensors. Didactum, official AKCP distributor, provides for the sensorProbe2 + monitoring solution temperature sensors, humidity sensors, water sensors, smoke detectors, door contacts and voltage sensors.
The new AKCP temperature sensors for cabinet monitoring are also supported by the new sensorProbe2+. These temp sensors can be connected in series. The installation of the AKCP sensors is based on the principle Plug`n`Play. Every AKCP Sensor is automatically detected by the sensorProbe2 + and listed in it`s WebGUI. Here individual limits and thresholds and the desired notification can be selected. Protect your server cabinet against critical temperature.
AKCess Pro`s SP2+ provides alerts and alarm notifications via email, SMS (via GSM modem) and SNMP traps to SNMP-based applications and Network Management Software (NMS) such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli, Nagios, Zabbix or PRTG. The temp, humidity data stored in the data logger data can be displayed as a graph directly in the web interface of sensorProbe2+ (SP2 +). Evaluate the current cabinet temperature directly from the sensorProbe2+ remote monitoring unit. Export functions are also provided.
