Answers AKCP FAQ

How could I change the dry contact settings of my sensorProbe8-X20/X60 or securityProbe-X20/X60 Remote Monitoring System?

By default, all dry contact inputs of sensorProbe8-X20, sensorpProbe8-X60, securityProbe-X20 and securityProbe-X60 Remote Monitoring devices are shipped with the Jumpers set as in Fig. 1. As you see in Fig.1 the power is provided by sensorProbe8-X20/X60 and securityProbe-X20/X60 to the dry contact switches. With this setting, the sensorProbe8-X20/X60 or securityProbe-X20/X60 monitoring units provide the the power. 5Volts are applied to pin1, and ground applied to pin2. When this switch is open, the input will sense +5V.

When switch closes. the input senses ground. No additional power is needed. Fig.2 shows the jumper settings of sensorProbe8-X20/X60 and securityProbe-X20/X60 dry contact boards set up to provide opto-isolated support. This opto-isolated mode gives complete electrical separation between sensorProbe8-X20/X60 and securityProbe-X20/X60 and the dry contacts. The user can change the dry contact mode by opening the top cover sensorProbe8-X20/X60 or securityProbe-X20/X60 and changing dry contact board jumper settings according Fig.2. Important: The maximum voltage that could be applied to dry contact inputs when configured in opto-isolated mode is +30V.
